The following coach accreditation courses will be offered in the Barwon Region during season 2009/10.


Introduction to Cricket - On-line course (Level 0)  NEW

  

Cricket Coaches Australia now have an 'Introduction to Cricket' Online Course available.

This FREE course is ideal for volunteers, parents and those beginning coaches, Milo In2Cricket Coordinators, junior team coaches, teachers or those assisting managing teams. 

This course is accredited by the Australian Sports Commission and takes approximately 1-3 hours to complete and on completion of the course, you become Level 0 accredited.

The on-line Introduction to Cricket course is now also a requirement of the Level 1 Coaching course.

Level 1 (Development)

The Level 1 Coaching Course aims to equip individuals working with under-age and community cricket teams with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective coach.

Two Level 1 courses are on offer in  the Barwon region in 2009/10. Both courses will be held at Geelong College and involve a full day of face to face content plus practical assessments

 Geelong    16 August  & 20 September 2009   9.30am - 5:00pm   - Max. 25 per course 

Once registered for the Level 1 Coaching Course, each participant is asked to complete the free Introduction to Cricket Online Course which takes approximately 1-3 hours to complete.

Some resources that would be useful additions to your clubs library would be:

Cricket Australia, together with The Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence and state and territory cricket associations, has developed the Cricket Australia Coaching Guide CDROM. The interactive resource provides coaches with a teaching aid that will assist them in delivering a variety of skills, activities and games with advice from Australia’s most well-known cricket champions and coaches.

This order form contains useful resources such as Fielding, Keeping, Batting and Bowling Activities as well as Laws of Cricket, Coaching Youth Cricket and "The Aggot" ball and DVD.
