MILO Kanga 8s

MILO Kanga 8s is a modified version of cricket for upper primary school age children cricket that maximises the involvement of all participants in a 16 over game (8 overs per team) that requires only 45-50 minutes from start to finish. 

Cricket Victoria have been conducting this State-wide competition since 1998. Each year an increasing number of schools from around Victoria entered. Last year a record 570 schools participated with 929 boys and 756 girls' teams entered in the MILO Kanga 8s State-wide competition.

To cater for the huge demand of the MILO Kanga 8s State-wide competition there will be a total of 60 regional carnivals covering the width and breadth of Victoria and 8 Regional Finals Days.

The MILO Kanga 8s State-wide competition is;

  • FREE TO ALL SCHOOLS,
  • Modified cricket that maximises participation,
  • Played by boys and girls,
  • Teacher friendly with easy to understand rules,
  • Encourages team work, communication & leadership.

Schools that enter the MILO Kanga 8s State-wide competition can choose to have a FREE clinic from a Cricket Victoria qualified coach prior to the competition. The clinic is aimed to teach the rules of the game, ground layout, strategies and tips. 

The winning girls and boys teams from each of the Statewide Regional Finals will earn the right to participate at the State Final (duration of one day).
